On December 22, 2018, the Republican meeting of directors and coordinators of the UNESCO Associated Schools of the Republic of Belarus, dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the creation of an international network of UNESCO Associated Schools, was held at the State Educational Establishment “Gymnasium No. 33 of Minsk”.
Students of the gymnasium presented social projects for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in the system of gymnasium education:
- “Organization of the Bike-Sharing velik bicycle rental system during the European Games of 2019 in the city of Minsk”.
- “Million good deeds”. The development of volunteer movement in the gymnasium.
- “Ecology of our home town”.
- «Socially active school for the development and promotion of youth initiatives» .
- “Cross-cultural education in gymnasium”.
Natalya Sergeevna Schasnovich, Senior Advisor of the Global Policy and Humanitarian Cooperation Directorate of the Main Department of Multilateral Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Executive Secretary of the National Commission for UNESCO of the Republic of Belarus, made a welcoming speech.
The current activities of the UNESCO Associated Schools of the Republic of Belarus in the context of the Global Development Agenda for the period until 2030 were introduced by Alla Kazyuchits, National Coordinator of the UNESCO Associated Schools of the Republic of Belarus, consultant of the General Directorate of Secondary, Pre-school and Special Education of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Member of the National Commission for UNESCO of the Republic of Belarus.
Oksana Yakubovskaya, Director of the State Educational Establishment “Gymnasium No. 33 of Minsk” spoke on the theme “Realization of the Sustainable Development Goals: quality of education, world citizenship, intercultural learning and respect for cultural diversity and heritage”.
The event was attended by honored guests:
Ablameiko Sergey Vladimirovich, doctor of technical sciences, professor, academician of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus, honored scientist of the Republic of Belarus, member of the National Commission of the Republic of Belarus for UNESCO until 2017;
Maxim Misko, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on Legislation of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the VIth convocation, Chairman of the Belarusian Foundation for Peace NGO, candidate of legal sciences;
Goncharova Nadezhda Vyacheslavovna, Ph.D. in Biology, Associate Professor, Head of the UNESCO Department of Radiation and Environmental Management of the International State Ecological Institute.
A solemn ceremony of awarding the certificate of the UNESCO Associated School to the state educational institution “Gymnasium No. 33 of Minsk”, which joined the international network, took place. At this event, the gymnasium was handed a facsimile edition of the first «Primer» in the framework of the action «Our Children».
At the end of the meeting, pupils of the gymnasium presented to the guests a creative project “Linguistic education through life”.
