The specialties of Environmental Medicine Faculty

1-80 02 01 «Medical and Biological Science»
Qualification – «Biologist-analyst. Teacher of Biology».
Students learn biological (in-depth) and medical science; modern methods and laboratory diagnostics resources which are used to evaluate the functional state of an organism.

Gain experience in bio-analytical work to do biochemical, immune, and other analysis, research biological probes for medical purposes, and to decrypt them.

Graduates of this major can work at medical laboratories, education, and science institutions.

1-33 01 05 «Medical Ecology»
Qualification – «Expert of Ecology».

Students learn Ecology and ecological standards, biological and chemical sciences; environmental factors impact on a human.

Gain experience in working with normative documents, using modern equipment to do chemical, physical, microbiological, other analysis, and research.

Graduates of this major can work at laboratories of Hygiene and Epidemiology Centers, other institutions and organizations dealing with the level determination of environmental factors impact on the population.



The specialties of Environmental Monitoring Faculty

1-100 01 01 «Nuclear and Radiation Safety», Qualification – «Engineer»;

Students gain experience in providing nuclear and radiation safety of staff and population; accounting and control of nuclear materials at NPP, their health protection zones; the safe use of ionizing radiation sources; individual dosimetry, radiation control during the conduction of radiation-hazardous work.

Graduates of this major can work at the Ministry of Energy institutions; nuclear power plants, academic, and research institutes.

1-40 05 01-07 «Information systems and technologies (in public health)», Qualification «Programmer engineer»; 1-40 05 01-06 «Information systems and technologies (in Ecology)», Qualification «Environmental Programmer Engineer».

Students learn software and database; oriented programming; systems and technologies of intellectual data processing.

Students gain experience in designing and developing software for information processing systems; adaptation and implementation of software, technologies in Ecology/Public Health; maintenance, support, and diagnostics of software; exploitation and adjustment of information protection systems.

1-31 04 05 «Medical Physics», Qualification «Medical Physicist»;

Students learn Physics (in-depth – optics, atomic and nuclear physics); biological and medical physics; medicine fundamentals; physical methods of diagnostics and treatment, applied in medicine (including nuclear medicine);

Students gain experience in working with special medical equipment applied mainly in oncology and medical radiology for diagnostics, treatment purposes.

Medical Physicist adjusts equipment, treatment, or research. In radiotherapy, the specialist calculates an individual safe dose, carries out the exposure of patients. He is responsible for the safe usage of ionizing radiation sources in medicine.

1-33 01 07 «Nature Protection Activities», majors: «Environmental Management and Expertise», «Environmental Monitoring», Qualification «Ecologist. Engineer on Environmental Protection»;

Students learn industrial ecology and rational usage of natural resources; environmental and economic systems, recycling, clearance, and utilization of production wastes.

Students gain experience in evaluating the impact on the environment; planning the events on nature protection; carrying out environmental expertise of different types of project analysis; environmental audit, etc.

Graduates of this major can work at the Ministry of Nature Resources and Environment organizations, industrial enterprises, transport and communication, housing and communal services, research centers.

1-43 01 06 «Energy Efficient Technologies and Energy Management», Qualification «Energy Manager Engineer»;

Students learn technologies and transformation of different energy types; enterprise energy supply systems; evaluation methodology of usage efficiency of renewable energy resources.

Students gain experience in the development and implementation of energy-efficient technologies in different fields of housing; doing energy system analysis of enterprises; control and accounting of fuel and energy resources usage, their efficient application.

Graduates of this major can work at energy departments and services of different enterprises, industrial institutions, forestry, transport, construction industry, research centers, etc.
